Care & Safety Policy

Each item is individually crafted and kiln-fired, making every piece unique. To help you enjoy your artwork for years to come, please follow the care guidance below.

General Care

  • Fused glass is durable but not unbreakable. Please handle with care.
  • Avoid dropping or knocking against hard surfaces.
  • These items are intended for decorative use unless stated otherwise.
  • Not suitable for dishwashers, microwaves or ovens.
  • Avoid exposing your glass to sudden or extreme temperature changes, as this may cause cracking.

 

Cleaning

  • Clean gently using a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • For stubborn marks, use mild soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or harsh chemicals as these may scratch or dull the surface.

 

Displaying Your Glass

  • Display in a stable position where it cannot easily be knocked over.
  • When hanging, ensure fixings are secure and appropriate for the weight of the piece.

 

Metal Hooks & Decorative Metal Elements

Some of my fused glass designs include metal hooks and decorative metal components.

  • These metal elements are chosen for their strength and suitability for kiln-fired glass, but they are intentionally left with a rustic, natural finish to complement the handmade nature of the piece.
  • Over time, metal may develop gentle tarnishing or patina — this is normal and adds to the character of the artwork.
  • If you wish to brighten the metal, you may gently wipe with a dry cloth.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or damp environments, as this may accelerate tarnishing.
  • These metal components are decorative and supportive in nature and should not be used to bear excessive weight or strain.

 

Outdoor Use

If displayed outdoors:

  • Please place in a sheltered position
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to rain, frost or extreme weather
  • Metal elements may weather more quickly outdoors
  • Jute twine may weaken over time, we recommend checking regularly and change as needed

 

Safety Information

  • This product is not a toy and is not suitable for children.
  • Glass edges are smoothed, but please handle carefully.
  • If breakage occurs, dispose of safely to avoid injury.

 

Handmade Nature

Each piece is handmade, and slight variations in colour, texture, shape and metal finish are part of what makes your piece unique and special — these are not faults but features of handcrafted glass art.
